Brian Cotton, Vice President, is the global head of the Interface Data Management (IDM) team within BlackRock Data Services.
IDM is a central team at BlackRock that oversees establishing new and enhanced connectivity with external providers to source data for modeling outsourced investments on Aladdin. It combines sophisticated capital markets knowledge and business process expertise to establish best practices and scale around data interfaces. Through its relationships with external providers, it works to further expand the universe of security data to increase accuracy and improve product quality. In addition to centralizing the process, IDM is committed to enhancing interface processing technology to be flexible, accurate, and consistent through close partnership with Aladdin development teams. Mr. Cotton joined BlackRock in 2012 as a Green Package reporting analyst. He was a founding member of the Green Package team in Tokyo, Japan. During his time in the group, he oversaw the production of analytical deliverables providing risk analyses on over 7 trillion USD in AUM across global institutional asset managers, insurers, and pension funds. Prior to joining BlackRock, he was an analyst within Citigroup's Global Prime Brokerage focusing on asset servicing related issues for alternative investment funds. Mr. Cotton earned a BSc degree, cum laude, in Finance from Rutgers Business School in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 2010. |
