Born and raised in Edison, New Jersey. Also lived in Tempe, AZ and Boston, MA.
Educated in Physics (Rutgers B.S & ASU Ph.D.), Statistics (Rutgers M.S.), Education (Rutgers GSE M.S. & EBD on Ph.D.), and Audio Engineering (CRAS, several certificates).
Previously employed by Rutgers, Plymouth Rock, Edison Board of Education, Twinleaf, ASU, and PSE&G. Now Director of Data Science for Deluxe Marketing Solutions. Research work has included medium energy nuclear physics, ultra high-precision magnetostatics, stochastic approximation methods, and STEM assessment. Served as president of the Graduate Student Affairs Committee, and a representative of Rutgers Senate, Rutgers Finance & Budget Committee, and the graduate member of AERA Division D International Committee. Also vice president of the CJ Liegel Foundation, a charitable non-profit promoting men’s participation with the Rutgers Cheerleading team.
Specialized skills include predictive modeling and statistical analysis, programming (R, C++, SQL, Spark), quantitative psychological methods, STEM curriculum design, web design, social networking coach, and public speaking. I also have fun.International SOS recruited Marc Harfeld in 2013. International SOS, with its presence in 90 countries, brought Marc onboard to transform the operations, infrastructure and software delivery capabilities of the Digital Products organization. Marc and his team now provide Infrastructure Architecture, DevOps, database, data center, and application operations leadership in Europe, Asia and the Americas for Digital Products, Global IT and multiple other operating companies within the Enterprise.
Prior to International SOS, Marc built his career through a series of IT and Analytics Leadership roles in the Financial Services and Health Care sectors.
In 2008, Marc joined a pre product VC funded startup – Accolade. With a dozen talented, passionate people which grew to a 600+ person company over 4 years during his tenure, Harfeld is proud to have been instrumental in Accolade’s success in becoming the highly innovative, massively successful health care company it is today, leveraging data science to enable its core operations.
In Consumer and Business Credit Card, Banking and Mortgage businesses, Marc led data and analytics architecture, application development, compliance, data science, data visualization, and database operations delivery teams.
A graduate of the Master’s Program conferred by the Wharton School of Business and University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering Technology Management program, a university level professor of Advanced .NET, Marc lives in Philadelphia, PA with his wife and children.
