Rob co-founded The Hackerati which delivers Engineering-as-a-Service to satisfy the market's demand for rapid development, experienced engineering teams. The NYC-based consultancy focuses on delivering custom SW grounded in Web, Mobile and Big Data. Specialties include product definition, distributed system architecture (aka Big Data), machine learning, product architecture, & engineering management.
As an engineer, Rob Marano delivers integrated HW/SW solutions to help companies to securely collect, analyze, & understand the data that drives their businesses, as well assist them to visualize & action data into knowledge. He has 24+ years of experience in product/engineering, sales, and marketing in tech startups, financial services, and telecommunications. Rob has held technology and executive management positions at both startup and Fortune 500 companies in the US and abroad, including Micromuse/RiverSoft (IBM), Voyence (EMC), Falkin Systems, InDorse Tech, GE, Lockheed Martin, Merrill Lynch, and PwC US & Europe.
He continues to hack software and hardware as well as lecturing on computer science, engineering, international business, and innovation/entrepreneurship at The Cooper Union, NYIT, and NYU.
