Uresh Vahalia is VP of Primary Storage Engineering at HPE.
Prior to joining HPE in February 2017, Uresh had a strong track record as an engineering executive leading product development at EMC and Cisco. Most recently, Uresh was VP of Engineering in the Computing Systems Group at Cisco, where he was responsible for UCS, Cisco's four-billion-dollar server and converged infrastructure product line. Prior to that, Uresh had a long career at EMC, where he headed engineering for several of EMC's enterprise and midrange storage arrays. In these roles, Uresh delivered revenue growth, sparked innovation, and instituted mature engineering practices and discipline. Uresh also has played several successful entrepreneur roles, where he has incubated multiple products from concept and prototype to first release and then on to mature products and businesses. Uresh's technology domain spans storage, operating systems, and server technology. He was the architect of ground-breaking products in the file system, clustering, and networked storage space. Uresh has authored over thirty patents and the highly acclaimed book, "UNIX Internals -- The New Frontiers." Uresh has an MS in Computer Science from Syracuse University and an MS in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology – Bombay. He is based in San Jose, California. |
